Dear Colleagues,
It’s an exciting time of year here at George Mason. With commencement upon us, more than 11,000 Patriots will earn their diplomas and proudly join a global network of over 250,000 alumni. Representing a wide range of majors, ages, backgrounds, and ambitions, these graduates are ready to step forward and make a positive difference in the world.
I want to extend my sincere thanks to each of you for the role you’ve played in helping our students reach this milestone. Through your teaching, mentorship, community building, and behind the scenes support, you have played an essential role in their success. Your expertise and dedication to our students are what make George Mason such a special place to learn and grow.
That same spirit of commitment and collaboration is reflected in the progress we continue to make as an institution. Earlier this month we launched Patriot Connect: Recruitment and Admissions, a new tool to streamline the application and admissions process for both students and staff. We’ve also reached one full year of implementation of the new budget model, which has been instrumental in improving our resource management. Both initiatives are essential to the effective management of our university, particularly in today’s rapidly evolving higher education landscape.
I would also like to share my gratitude for the many ways you work together in service to our university. In recent months as interim provost, I have gained a deep appreciation for the insights, commitment, and contributions of our faculty and staff. It has been an honor to serve in this role and to meet so many wonderful individuals across the George Mason community.
I wish you a restful and enjoyable summer and look forward to seeing everyone back on campus in the fall.
Sincerely,
Ajay Vinzé
Interim Provost and Executive Vice President
